Zangge Mining strictly manages pollutants and waste throughout the entire production process—from the source to treatment—establishing comprehensive systems and ledgers for solid waste, exhaust gas, wastewater, and noise management. This ensures that pollutant and waste discharges meet regulatory standards, while the company continuously explores more efficient reduction methods to improve environmental governance.
Air Emissions Management
Air Emissions Management
Zangge Mining strictly complies with the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Air Pollution and applicable national and local emission standards. The company employs pollution control measures such as flue gas purification facilities, bag filters, cyclone dust collectors, and wet scrubbers to effectively treat particulate matter, nitrogen oxides, and other major air pollutants generated during production, aiming to minimize emissions and protect the surrounding environment.
In May 2024, Zangge Potash replaced key production equipment burners with low-nitrogen, environmentally friendly burners, achieving efficient, stable, and cleaner fuel combustion. A total of four low-nitrogen burners were installed. Calculations show that each burner reduced energy consumption by 2–3% and effectively lowered CO and NOx emission concentrations.
Wastewater Management
Wastewater Management
Zangge Mining implements strict management of both industrial and domestic wastewater. For industrial wastewater, the company enhances pollution prevention facilities and increases water reuse to improve efficiency. Domestic wastewater is collected and treated in integrated sewage treatment facilities, meeting Class I standards under the Comprehensive Wastewater Discharge Standard (GB8978-1996) before being discharged into impermeable evaporation pools for natural evaporation or reused in the ore dissolution process, eliminating external discharge.
Waste Management
Waste Management
Zangge Mining follows the principles of reduction, recycling, and harmless disposal in managing waste, ensuring lawful and compliant handling. The company maintains a detailed waste ledger and classifies all types of waste to monitor generation, storage, and transfer, ensuring compliance and improving management efficiency.
In 2024, Zangge Potash completed the construction of a hazardous waste storage facility in the Qarhan mining area, achieving unified management of hazardous waste storage and obsolete material stacking in accordance with China’s latest standards. Staff received professional training in hazardous waste management, strengthening environmental awareness and operational capabilities to ensure effective implementation of management procedures. Meanwhile, Zangge Lithium continuously improves hazardous waste disposal management, maintaining proper storage and accurate labeling.
