Since its inception, Zangge Mining has regarded technological innovation as a critical support for scaling up mining operations and sustainable resource utilization. The company has continuously accumulated technical expertise, cultivating a professional team specialized in salt lake resource development and proficient in lithium extraction from brine. From breakthroughs in potassium chloride production through solid-to-liquid conversion technology to solving challenges in lithium extraction from ultra-low concentration brine, technological innovation has become a core pillar of the company’s market position and competitiveness.
Clean Productivity
Developing new quality productivity is a vital path to simultaneously reducing carbon emissions, minimizing pollution, and expanding green capacity. Zangge Mining maintains a consistent commitment to environmental responsibility, leveraging new technologies to drive the transition toward cleaner, greener mining operations. The company actively promotes green mine construction, optimizes process flows and equipment configurations to reduce resource consumption, and prioritizes the adoption of cutting-edge technologies to produce cleaner products, laying a solid foundation for green transformation.
Green Mine Construction
As a mining-based enterprise and a national pilot for green mines, Zangge Mining recognizes the importance of green mine construction. The company revised the former Green Mine Construction Management Measures, updated the leadership team, and enhanced the green mine management mechanism. Sustainable production and operational practices are applied throughout the project lifecycle. From pre-construction, mid-construction, to post-closure, Zangge fully implements the Mine Geological Environment Protection and Land Reclamation Plan, ensuring the ecological sustainability of mining operations.


Opportunities in Clean Technology
The global energy structure is rapidly shifting toward low-carbon and clean alternatives. The rapid growth of the new energy vehicle industry further drives demand for power batteries, with lithium as a critical raw material increasing in market value and strategic importance. Leveraging salt lake resource advantages, Zangge Mining began constructing lithium carbonate production lines in 2018, innovatively using potassium fertilizer tail brine for lithium extraction. This enhances overall resource utilization efficiency and accelerates industrial chain expansion into clean energy sectors.
Energy-saving and Carbon Reduction Equipment in Potash Production
During the reporting period, to alleviate local energy supply-demand tensions, improve production efficiency, reduce operational costs, and enhance equipment safety, Zangge Potash planned an investment of CNY 32 million in advanced energy-saving and carbon reduction equipment. By the end of the reporting period, CNY 12.0438 million had been invested in equipment upgrades. This initiative is significant in optimizing resource allocation, reducing costs, improving efficiency, saving energy, and strengthening safety management. The project is projected to save approximately 490 tons of standard coal equivalent per year, generating economic benefits of about CNY 1.7 million annually.
Clean Production Practices
Zangge Mining actively implements the Clean Production Promotion Law of the People’s Republic of China and relevant local regulations such as the 2024 Haixi Prefecture Clean Production Audit Enterprise List. The company continuously advances multi-category technical improvements aligned with environmental requirements, prioritizing green production technologies and circular economy principles. In 2024, Zangge Lithium achieved national green factory certification and completed its annual supervision audit, while Zangge Potash initiated its second round of clean production audits, expected to pass in 2025.
Digital-Intelligent Productivity
Digital-intelligent productivity has emerged as a key driver of production efficiency and sustainable development, becoming central to industrial transformation and upgrading. By deeply integrating digital and intelligent technologies, the company’s Distributed Control System (DCS) has been progressively applied across production processes. In March 2024, Zangge Potash successfully passed the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s review for Integration of Informatization and Industrialization Management System Requirements (GB/T 23001-2017) and New Capability Grading Requirements for Integration of Informatization and Industrialization (GB/T 23006-2022), receiving an “A-level” project management capability certificate and special subsidies from the Qinghai Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology.
Digital-Intelligent Transformation Measures
Automation and Intelligent Upgrades

In the lithium business segment, 20 series across five adsorption workshop areas were upgraded with automation; six series completed integration, enhancing both interface optimization and automated production levels.

In the nanofiltration workshop, upgrades to the MVR (Mechanical Vapor Recompression) system, process optimization, and control program enhancements significantly increased automation levels.

Innovative Processes and Risk Control

In the electrodialysis system, innovative process design and equipment upgrades, such as ORP (Oxidation-Reduction Potential) detection and nanofiltration membrane modifications, resolved membrane oxidation issues in the lithium chloride brine system and reduced equipment corrosion risks.

Precision Control and System Integration

In the potash production line’s DCS system, real-time data collection, display, and analysis enable precise process control.

DCS interlock and early warning functions enhance real-time monitoring, ensuring stable operation and safety throughout production processes.
