Zangge Mining’s Overseas Subsidiary Celebrates Lao New Year “Pi Mai Lao” with Series of Activities
To welcome the traditional Lao festival Pi Mai Lao (Water Festival), Zangge Mining (Laos) Development Co., Ltd. organized a series of celebratory activities, including sending festive greetings, a friendly football match, and interactive games. These events strengthened local integration, promoted government-enterprise collaboration, and injected new momentum into project development.

Extending Festive Greetings to Government Departments and Integrating into Lao Culture

Following the company’s coordinated plan, in the lead-up to the Lao traditional festival, various departments visited key government offices to convey holiday blessings. This initiative also served to widely promote the company’s corporate culture and achievements in ESG development, proactively engaging local stakeholders. The effort showcased Zangge’s commitment to rooting, building, and jointly developing projects in Laos, enhancing local awareness, understanding, and support.

Hosting a “Pi Mai Lao” Football Friendly to Share Festive Spirit

On April 8, Zangge Mining partnered with the Lao Department of Geology and Mines to host a “Celebrate Pi Mai Lao” Football Friendly Match. Prior to the match, Mr. Yan Yong, the company’s Deputy General Manager, presented the Director of the Department, Mr. Sukansa, with custom jerseys and a flower basket. On the pitch, team members from both China and Laos enjoyed the game, demonstrating teamwork and the spirit of “collaborating for mutual success.” After the match, both sides shared dinner and held in-depth discussions on exploration and resource coordination, further strengthening trust and cooperation between government and enterprise.

Fun Games and Cultural Engagement to Enrich the Festival Atmosphere

On April 12, the company’s General Management Department organized Pi Mai Lao celebrations for all employees. During the event, Chinese and Lao employees participated in playful water activities to exchange blessings, creating a unique cross-cultural integration experience. Lao employees expressed delight when receiving festive red envelopes from the General Manager, reflecting the warmth and goodwill that transcended national boundaries. Amidst laughter, splashing water, and sincere blessings, employees experienced the cultural essence of Lao New Year in an immersive way.
Pi Mai Lao is the most important traditional festival in Laos, marking the Lao New Year. Beyond its festive celebrations, the festival embodies traditional Buddhist wisdom—using water to cleanse the past year’s misfortunes and pray for new beginnings—symbolizing renewal, blessings, and hope for the year ahead.
