Company Hosts Specialized Training on Phase Diagram Theory and Application in Aqueous Salt Systems to Enhance Production Processes
To further strengthen the professional skills of production technical staff, the Technology R&D Department, at the request of the Production Management Department, organized a specialized training session on “Phase Diagram Theory and Application in Aqueous Salt Systems” on June 28 at the Lakeside Office Building. The training was led by Yan Xiuying, R&D Supervisor, and Li Yumei, Engineer, and was attended by technical backbones and relevant personnel from the Production Management Department’s mining workshops.

The session focused on both the theoretical foundations of phase diagrams in aqueous salt systems and their practical applications in production. The lecturers systematically explained the analysis and plotting methods of quaternary aqueous salt systems (K⁺, Na⁺, Mg²⁺ // Cl⁻–H₂O). They provided an in-depth interpretation of brine characteristics from the Qarhan Salt Lake, detailing the techniques for brine-based solar evaporation mining and saltfield phase diagram calculations using actual analytical data.
The training further explored the application of phase diagram theory in solid-to-liquid conversion technologies, analyzing the principles of solution mining. Key influencing factors such as magnesium-based and sodium-based solvents were explained in terms of their mechanisms and large-scale application paths. Guided by the company’s “Saltfield Solar Evaporation Handbook” and combined with the current operational status of the saltfields, the lecturers demonstrated how to efficiently apply phase diagram theory to optimize solar evaporation operations.

Adopting a theory-and-practice-integrated teaching approach, the training emphasized knowledge application and skill transformation. Using measured brine evaporation data as examples, the lecturers organized hands-on exercises where participants conducted initial brine point marking and analysis under quaternary system conditions with professional coordinate charts. This practical engagement effectively deepened participants’ mastery of core techniques, while lively discussions fostered active technical exchange.
This training represented an organic integration of cutting-edge R&D achievements with frontline production practice, promoting a virtuous cycle of “theory guiding practice, and practice refining processes.” It significantly enhanced the scientific and precise management of production processes, laying a solid technical foundation for the ongoing optimization of workflows, improved resource utilization, and enhanced product quality.
