Zangge Mining Co-Hosts the Grand Opening of the 2025 Potash and Potassium Salt Conference & Golmud Salt Lake Forum

On July 16, the 2025 Potash and Potassium Salt Conference & Golmud Salt Lake Forum officially opened at the Golmud New District Convention Center in Qinghai Province. Jointly hosted by China National Salt Lake Industry Group Co., Ltd. and Zangge Mining Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”), the conference was themed “Green Innovation · Digital Empowerment · Building a World-Class Salt Lake Industrial Base Together.” It brought together government officials, industry leaders, academics, and researchers from home and abroad, establishing an important platform to showcase China’s salt lake industry and promote international cooperation.

High-Level Opening Ceremony: Building Consensus for Development

The opening ceremony on the morning of July 16 was held in a solemn yet vibrant atmosphere. Leaders from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, and the China Inorganic Salts Industry Association delivered keynote addresses, offering insights on national strategic planning, policy orientation, and technological innovation—providing guidance for the future development of the sector. Qiao Yaqiun, Deputy Party Secretary and Governor of Haixi Prefecture, also introduced the local government’s concrete plans to leverage Qinghai’s unique salt lake resources to build a world-class industrial base.

In his speech, Chairman Wu Jianhui of Zangge Mining reviewed the company’s more than 20 years of dedicated development, highlighting its contribution of over ten million tons of potash fertilizer to the nation, serving as a critical safeguard for food security. He emphasized that, in the face of global food security challenges and surging demand for lithium resources in the new energy sector, Zangge has proactively adopted a “resources + technology” dual-engine strategy, establishing a core technology system with independent intellectual property rights. Wu stressed that building a world-class salt lake industrial base cannot be achieved by a single company alone—it requires close collaboration across the entire industrial chain.

During the award presentation, Zangge Mining’s wholly owned subsidiary, Golmud Zangge Potash Co., Ltd., was honored with the 2024 Outstanding Contribution Award for Potash Fertilizer Supply and Price Stabilization by the China Inorganic Salts Industry Association, recognizing the company’s efforts in ensuring stable supply.

Product Showcase & Global Engagement

Following the opening ceremony, numerous domestic potash distributors and agricultural cooperatives engaged in in-depth discussions with Zangge Mining’s team at the exhibition hall. Conversations focused on potash supply stability, development of new fertilizer types, and potential areas for extended cooperation, with several enterprises expressing strong interest in long-term collaboration.

Deputy Director-General Sountoun Lao Luo of the Lao Department of Geology and Minerals showed great interest in the company’s potassium chloride product samples and lithium extraction processes. After learning about Zangge’s advantages in efficient potash mining and low-energy processing, he remarked:

“Lao PDR has abundant potash resources, but still faces challenges in scaling up and controlling costs. Zangge Mining’s experience is highly valuable. We look forward to substantive cooperation with Zangge in potash resource development to achieve complementary strengths and mutual benefits.”

On the evening of July 15, the company hosted a welcome banquet, bringing together representatives from leading potash producers, agricultural distributors, and agricultural research institutions nationwide. The event fostered open exchanges on industry dynamics and market trends, enhancing mutual understanding across the supply chain.

The following day, Zangge’s senior executives held a roundtable with representatives of 11 key client enterprises. The meeting revolved around two main themes: reviewing cooperation achievements and charting future directions. Participants systematically summarized progress in supply chain stability, technology collaboration, and market expansion, while also identifying areas for improvement.
