Zangge Potash Completes New Hazardous Waste Storage Facility

In response to national environmental protection policies and in line with the concept of green development, the new hazardous waste storage facility in the lake area of Zangge Potash was officially completed in August 2024, with plans to commence operation in September.

The newly built hazardous waste storage facility is located within the Zangge Potash production plant at Chaerhan Salt Lake, covering an area of 939.36 square meters with a total investment of 3.02 million RMB. During construction, the company adhered to principles of high standards, high investment, and high efficiency to ensure that the facility can operate stably under various harsh natural conditions, effectively preventing contamination of soil, water, and air by hazardous waste.

To ensure safe storage and management of hazardous waste, the Supply and Storage Department strictly classifies hazardous waste generated in the lake area in accordance with the National Hazardous Waste Catalogue, clearly specifying key information such as waste names, categories, codes, and hazardous characteristics. Waste is properly segregated based on its category, form, and physicochemical properties to prevent contact with incompatible substances. In addition, the department provides professional training for management personnel to enhance environmental awareness and operational competence, ensuring that all management systems are effectively implemented and that the hazardous waste storage facility operates safely.

Looking ahead, the company will continue to increase investment in environmental protection, uphold the principle that “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets,” and continuously improve hazardous waste management technologies and practices.
