Urgent Aid to Shigatse: Zangge Mining Donates CNY 5 Million Demonstrating Social Responsibility

Nowadays, mining companies represented by Zangge Mining are taking on greater responsibility and making more positive contributions to society.

At 9:05 a.m. on January 7, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County, Shigatse City, Tibet, causing significant casualties and widespread building collapses, capturing nationwide attention. Following the earthquake, Zangge Mining Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Zangge Mining”) immediately activated its emergency response mechanism and acted swiftly, fulfilling its social responsibilities by proactively donating CNY 5 million through the Qinghai Red Cross Society to support emergency relief and post-disaster reconstruction.

The donation aims to provide urgent funding support for earthquake relief in Dingri County, helping affected residents overcome difficulties. The funds will be mainly used to purchase emergency relief supplies and equipment, and to support rapid repair of damaged infrastructure, ensuring that basic living needs are met and enabling residents to resume normal production and life as soon as possible.

At the donation ceremony, Zangge Mining stated: “In the face of disaster, we are closely connected as one family. When our brothers and sisters in Tibet face difficulties, we should do our utmost to provide help. Even from thousands of miles away, our hearts are with those affected. Through this donation, we hope to contribute to earthquake relief in Dingri County and also call on more enterprises and individuals to join the aid effort, using love and action to form a powerful force to support the people in the disaster area.”

As a mining enterprise based on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau for over 20 years, Zangge Mining understands the challenges of disaster relief in high-altitude regions. The company stated that it will continue to closely monitor reconstruction progress and actively participate in post-disaster rebuilding, demonstrating corporate social responsibility and compassion, and contributing sustained support to the long-term development of affected areas.

In recent years, Zangge Mining has adhered to the concept of green development, implementing rational exploitation of salt lake resources, achieving a win-win between economic benefits and environmental protection. In December 2023, following a magnitude 6.2 earthquake in Jishishan County, Linxia Prefecture, Gansu Province, the company immediately donated funds and materials totaling CNY 5.6 million through the Lanzhou Red Cross and Qinghai Red Cross to support earthquake relief and post-disaster reconstruction, helping residents overcome difficulties.

In education and public health, Zangge Mining has provided financial donations, educational equipment, and school facility renovations to improve access to quality education and support development in remote areas. In December 2023, the company donated CNY 2.184 million to the Shanghai True Love Dream Public Welfare Foundation to support educational initiatives, leveraging the foundation’s resources for targeted assistance.

In January 2024, Zangge Mining collaborated with the Fangcun Charity Special Fund to carry out the “Corporate Education Assistance” project in remote areas of Datong County, Qinghai, and Kangle County, Gansu, providing CNY 325,000 in support to 90 children from impoverished families.

In July 2024, the “Yixing Hongguang” public welfare project, in partnership with the Gesanghua Education Foundation, donated over CNY 360,000 to three schools and impoverished families in Huangnan Prefecture and Tianjun County, Qinghai, supporting local students’ education.

In August 2024, the project extended support to two primary schools in Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan, providing essential supplies for students from disadvantaged households, including orphans and children with limited parental education or social interaction skills. Zangge Mining coordinated with volunteers to deliver office, dormitory, and sports equipment directly to these schools, contributing to the growth and education of the next generation.

Focusing on Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) dimensions, Zangge Mining persistently explores and implements practices to forge resilience for sustainable development, empowering industry and society, and creating long-term value for stakeholders. At the “2024 Global Procurement and Corporate Overseas Expansion Forum” hosted by the China United Nations Procurement Promotion Association in Beijing, Zangge Mining was awarded the “2024 China Manufacturing Listed Company Five-Star CSR Gold Award.”

Zangge Mining’s outstanding performance in green development and social responsibility has earned high recognition from society and capital market investors. On January 9, 2025, Zangge Mining recorded a 6.38% increase in its stock price, with a latest market value of CNY 46.6 billion.
