Zangge Potash’s South Houbuxun Lake Flood Control Dam Reinforcement Project Advances Efficiently and Steadily

To actively fulfill its ecological protection responsibilities and strengthen its safety production safeguards, Golmud Zangge Potash Co., Ltd. officially launched the South Houbuxun Lake Flood Control Dam Reinforcement Project on December 4, 2025. With a total length of 38 kilometers, this project represents the Company’s first major initiative to be fully developed and managed independently. Led by the Engineering Management Department, the Company coordinated more than 60 core professionals from multiple departments to form a dedicated task force, establishing an efficient and highly collaborative project execution mechanism. The launch of this project marks a significant step forward in the Company’s capabilities in independent project management and operational execution.

At present, the project is being advanced simultaneously across six construction sections, with 29 kilometers of dam reinforcement completed to date. Overall progress remains in line with the project schedule, and full completion is planned by the end of January 2026.

To ensure the orderly and safe advancement of the project under seasonal conditions, the project team implemented comprehensive occupational health and safety measures and adopted scientific construction planning and flexible work arrangements for key construction activities. These measures are designed to prioritize personnel safety and well-being while maintaining stable and efficient project execution. The Company is steadily advancing the remaining works to ensure completion in a timely manner and to enhance the project’s resilience ahead of upcoming seasonal changes.

Construction activities are being carried out in a well-organized and orderly manner, with key processes such as underwater operations and panel installation progressing as planned. Through robust project coordination, rigorous quality control, and disciplined execution, the project team has steadily advanced construction works, demonstrating the Company’s strong operational capabilities and professional workforce engagement.

The project places strong emphasis on ecological compatibility and long-term protection. By adopting environmentally friendly materials and sustainable construction techniques, the maintenance cycle of the flood control dam has been significantly extended from annual maintenance to once every six to eight years. This approach not only substantially reduces maintenance costs, but also minimizes ecological disturbance caused by repeated construction activities, achieving a balanced integration of safety assurance, environmental protection, and economic efficiency.

At present, the project team is steadily advancing the remaining finishing works to ensure that all construction tasks are completed to high standards and high quality. Going forward, the Company will continue to uphold the principles of “quality first, safety as the top priority, and green development,” continuously accumulating experience and exploring innovative approaches. Through concrete and disciplined actions, the Company aims to safeguard the stability of its production and operations, promote improvements to the regional ecological environment, and lay a solid foundation for green and sustainable development at both the corporate and industry levels.
