Party Secretary of Zijin Mining Group Visits Zangqing Industrial Park

On July 9, Chen Jinghe, Party Secretary and Chairman of Zijin Mining Group, led a delegation to inspect the Zangqing Industrial Park in Tibet. This visit marked the first government–enterprise special liaison since Zijin Mining completed its acquisition of control over Zangge Mining, with a focus on on-site investigation of industrial planning and investment coordination. Zhang Guohong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Tibet Autonomous Region Office in Golmud (Administrative Committee of Tibet Zangqing Industrial Park), accompanied the delegation.

The first stop was the project base of Fujian Jinshan Wear-Resistant Materials Co., Ltd., where the delegation learned in detail about the progress of the 300,000-ton forged steel ball project. As a key component of Zijin Mining Group’s strategy to become a “green, high-tech, top-tier international mining group,” this project, by radiating across Tibet, Qinghai, and Belt & Road mining clusters, reduces regional mining procurement costs, enhances development efficiency, and drives comprehensive upgrades of the industrial chain.

Subsequently, the delegation visited the processing base of Tibet Guoyu Jewelry & Culture Co., Ltd. to investigate the development of ethnic characteristic industries. They also toured the production workshop of Tibet Liuhe Chemical Development Co., Ltd. to understand enterprise operations and market conditions. In the new energy sector, the delegation focused on Tibet Wanli New Resources Co., Ltd.’s lithium battery material production line and the application of salt-lake lithium extraction adsorbent materials at Tibet Jiuwu High-Tech Materials Technology Co., Ltd.

During the inspection, Chen Jinghe stated that Zijin Mining will deepen cooperation with the park in resource sharing, technical support, and market expansion, jointly exploring new paths for sustainable development and ensuring rapid construction and commissioning of projects within the park.

Zhang Guohong emphasized that Zijin Mining, as a leading benchmark in the mining industry, is world-leading in resource integration, technological innovation, and market development. He expressed hope that Zijin Mining will empower the development of Zangqing Industrial Park, collaboratively establish a strategic energy security base, and jointly promote high-quality economic development on the plateau.

This inspection signifies that Zijin Mining’s strategic layout in Tibet has entered a substantive deepening phase. Through efficient liaison, both parties further consolidated their cooperation consensus and clarified directions for coordinated development. In the future, Zijin Mining and Zangqing Industrial Park will leverage their respective advantages to enhance the resilience and security of regional mining industry supply chains, and promote deep, efficient, green, and high-value development of mineral resources. This will not only inject strong new momentum into Zijin Mining’s sustainable growth but also contribute significantly to high-quality economic and social development in Tibet, support the national strategy for new energy resource security, and facilitate industrial upgrading and the prosperity of border areas in western China.
