Founded in September 2017, Golmud Zangge Lithium Industry Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zangge Potash Co. Ltd. The company is headquartered at No. 15-02, Kunlun South Road, Golmud City, Qinghai Province, whose registered capital is 500 million yuan. With more than 140 employees, it is mainly engaged in the production, sales and technical consultation of battery-grade lithium carbonate.

In September 2017, the company completed the pilot test of extraction and production of lithium carbonate from ultra-low lithium concentration brine with the adsorption method, providing reliable design parameters for industrial production. Then the preliminary work of the project with an annual output of 20,000 tons of lithium carbonate was carried out, and the feasibility study was commissioned by Donghua Technology Co., Ltd. Afterwards, the first phase project with an annual output of 10,000 tons of lithium carbonate was finally settled to be built in Qarhan Salt Lake. On December 20, 2018, the first phase project of Zangge Lithium with an annual output of 20,000 tons of lithium carbonate went into trial operation smoothly, successful in producing battery-grade lithium carbonate. The company adopts the self-developed technology of “simulated continuous adsorption → impurity removal by nanofiltration & reverse osmosis → one-step synthesis” and realizes the “one-step” purification of battery-grade lithium carbonate from ultra-low concentration brine. It thus solves the problem of the kind in the region of salt lakes, and solves the problem of excessive boron in salt lakes lithium products, greatly improves the product quality, and reduces the cost. It has accumulated experience for extracting lithium from ultra-low concentration brine in salt lakes. It is playing a leading role in this regard in Qinghai Province, greatly promoting the development of lithium extraction technology in salt lakes.
